Hey 👋 !
There are so many tools in this data planet. It is overwhelming.
But there are not many I love as much as Quarto. ❤️
What is Quarto?
Quarto is a publishing system. Basically, you write some R or Python code, add some text explanation, and you end up with a beautiful HTML report ready to be shared.
A Quarto file looks like this:
And this is how the report ends up! 🔥
Give it a go now! It will transform the way you analyse data.
In my opinion there is no coming back:
Share together code, results and explanation. In 1 file.
Fully reproducible analysis
Interactive document
No more copy-paste to word documents
Quarto is an indispensable tool for anyone serious about data analysis.
Pushing the Quarto boundaries
I've curated a special collection of Quarto tips and tricks!
Not just any tips; they're the keys to transforming a basic report into a visual masterpiece.
There are 3 levels:
1️⃣ Easy is for all the basic functionalities like how to format text or how to display a table of content.
2️⃣ Medium is for the lesser known techniques that involve a bit of web development skills. Like adding a footer to the doc or using figure captions.
3️⃣ Advanced is where the fun begins!
For instance you can include interactive graphs magically with plotly 😍
Another trick I like is the possibility to enlarge a graph in fullscreen mode:
There is so much more, like adding tabs to maxime content while saving space, publish the report online, add an interactive table for the raw data…
The collection is growing!
I started the collection a few days ago, and I add 1 new trick every day!
If there is a specific technique you use to make your report better, I’m eager to hear about this! Please press the reply button and let me know! 🙏🙏🙏
👋 Cheers!
